Life After Doctorate Focus Groups

I am very excited about the content for a new programme called ‘Life after Doctorate’, which will support the transition of social science graduates beyond their PhD.  I am specifically looking for people who have completed a PhD in the last 3 years to engage in a recorded conversation about experiences post submission; this will be a space to reflect and develop draft content.  These conversations/focus groups will last about an hour and will be held either in Manchester or online.

In return I can offer you coffee, biscuits, an opportunity to share your experiences to support others and free or reduced admission onto the first program, which I am aiming to run next year.

The initial focus groups will be on:

  • 25th of November at 1:00 (Sat)
  • 29th November at 1:00 (Weds) (full)
  • 15th of December at 1:00 (Fri)

If you are not able to make any of these dates but would still like to be involved, do get in touch either by email or feel free to call me:

  1. What a great initiative Dr White!

I have spoken to dozens of doctoral students over the years who have told me how hard it was to get back into ‘life’ after their doctoral studies.

I think that this programme is going to be a great success!
